Facilities

The Hub Jorhat's Makerspace is equipped with various state-of-the-art facilities.

Sculpting

The Hub Makerspace Sculpting workshops are particularly designed for those makers who would love to try their hand at, and introduce themselves to sculpting. This workshop teaches you the art of modeling and curving using clay as a medium.

Woodworking

The Hub Makerspace Woodworking will provide instructional classes with resource persons who would teach how to shape wood into personal objects, so that you can start off your own DIY projects, or even get onboard professional projects.

Painting

An incredibly supportive environment that would allow you your space to play with colors and explore your creativity, regardless of your skills. This workshop would also involve meeting new people from the world of art, gaining exposure from each other and nurturing your own creativity.

Crafting

Spreading awareness for the requirement of self-care amidst all the stress in our day to day life, crafting is a way to calm one’s busy mind while keeping away from the world of technology. Keeping in mind that upcycling is the main theme for crafting at The Hub MakerSpace, it allows the makers to shape their ideas into reality.

Arduino Robotic

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on the easy use of hardware and software. It is able to read inputs- the light on a sensor or a finger on a button, to turn on an LED. This Arduino workshop will focus on getting you up and running with Arduino quickly so that you can understand the basic procedures of working with Arduino and have the confidence and skill to explore more.

Pyrography

Learn the famous age-old artwork technique known as “pyrography” or wood burning. This technique will teach the maker the basics of decorative wood burning, which can be a good skill for a decorative project.

Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer technology used to create a replicated environment. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds. By simulating as many senses as possible, such as vision, hearing, touch, the computer is transformed into a gatekeeper to this artificial world. The Hub MakerSpace would provide workshops on low-cost VR accessibility that can be made using cardboard.
